Shaqquan Aaron
Position Wing A smooth and crafty ball handler, passer, shooter and scorer, McLaughlin is on the short list of best point guards in USC history. He has steadily improved his outside shooting every season while maintaining a rare ability to score in traffic at the basket. Expected to play more off the ball this year, look for his shooting percentage to go up as the pressure of ball handling is shared more equitably with other members of USC’s deep backcourt. A reliable and steady defender and free throw shooter as well as a highly-respected and unselfish (perhaps too unselfish at times) field general, “JMAC” is the heart and soul of this USC basketball team.

Bennie Boatwright
Position Forward BR says: Last season,
McLaughlin ran the Trojans’ offense with a sleek, efficient style, fashioning
a 2.5-1 assist-to-turnover ratio while proving a reliable shooter all over
the court. Combine that production with the steady play over his first two
seasons, and it’s no surprise JMac ranks second on USC’s all-time assist
list, eighth in career steals and 22nd on its all-time scoring list.  “He’s such a good decision maker,” Enfield
said. “When you have a guy like that running your team, it’s hard to take him
off the court.”
