  • A couple of queries for the upcoming podcast

Gentlemen, two questions. First, did Boogie play himself out of the draft (assuming he was on the bubble), and maybe he can be enticed to come back for some NIL and play for a loaded squad next year? Second, after early exits in two straight tournaments, is Andy going to have extra pressure to get the team deep into the tournament next year? And if he’s out early again, might he be replaced? Should he be?

You raise interesting questions. By all accounts, Collier, Silas DeMary and Page is an outstanding class, that I would not take over anybody outside of Kentucky, Duke and Texas. We have so many guys returning - even without Boogie or Peterson, RDW, Kobe, Tre, Morgan and Vince all played key minutes and another year will do wonders. The future is bright, and this is perhaps the most optimistic I've been at the end of a season, looking forward to the next year. Maybe since the OJ Mayo year.

It's hard to imagine AE getting so much pressure - objectively, he's likely just a couple seasons or so away from setting the USC wins record for a coach and has the most NCAA appearances. It's also hard to imagine it's already been 10 years, for those of us who remember the Kevin O'Neill, Tim Floyd, Henry Bibby years. His recruiting seems to be getting better too.

I don't see any pressure on coach. He's not an elite coach but he's very good. He's probably more than we could ask for considering the fan support for the program.

Drew and Boogie were great college players but their skillset lends itself to a 1 on 1 offense which is inherently streaky. My read is that Enfield had molded the offense to what he has each year and clearly saw a need for more facilitation and went and got the best facilitating recruit in USC history.

I do hope he also addresses the need for rebounding (obviously Vince would have helped) but if he takes a page out of Houston's book and marries that with the talent we'll have next year I think the team could be pretty special.

Really curious what the transfer strategy is this off-season - would love a breakdown on the pod about potential options both in the portal now and possibly entering the portal.

I thought of one more question. Does it annoy you at all that, like clockwork, as soon as we lose our final game, that guys who never in a million years would set foot in Galen come ou of the woodwork pontificating about how bad the team is, or Enfield is? I am NOT talking about this site, where actual SC basketball fans reside.
