  • All Time SC Hoops Third Team

Guards: Jordan McLaughlin and Dwight Anderson

JMac was the savior as the first legit recruit to build the program on after the K.O. disaster, and he delivered SC back to relevance. Top two assist games in school history, Single season assist leader, and #4 scorer in school history. Led the conference in assists. and 5th all time in the conference. Anderson may be the most physically gifted player ever at SC. Averaged 20 points and 6 rebounds in his two years at SC, leading the team back to the NCAAT his senior year for only the second time in 21 years.

Forwards: Wayne Carlander and Bill Hewitt

Carlander was USC's first Conference POY in 1985, leading the team to a share of the conference title (their last). 7th on the career scoring chart, and 10th in career rebounds. Left school as the all time scoring leader. Hewitt was USCs first big time African American recruit. He only played two years at SC, but his impact was immediate. His first game ever was also Coach Boyd's first game and Jabbar's first game, 12/3/66 at Pauley, and Hewitt scored. 39, sixth on the all time SC list. In his two years he averaged 19 points and 11.3 rebounds, which is 2nd on the career avg rebound list.

    Center: Evan Mobley

Only played one year at SC, but what a year. Conference, Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year, first time that was ever done. Took SC to the Elite 8. Eighth on the career average rebound list, 2nd single season block total. The last of 6 USC players to lead the Conference in scoring and rebounding.
