  • Really embarrassing Half of basketball

That was the worst defensive effort I can remember in a long, long time.

I didnt watch it. But seemed like an expected effort based off box score. I will fully admit that the box score doesn't tell the story.

Arizona beating Michigan seems like top tier is USC, UCLA and Arizona. I still fully expect UCLA to get creamed by Gonzaga tomorrow, but we are in thick of it. Some maturing to do, but right there to compete for Pac-12 title.

Creamed is a strong word. UCLA'S guards are simply better than Gonzaga's guards. That will go a long way.

I don't think they need to stop Timme if they are making shots and can run with him. Chet is an X factor.

If Juzang goes 9-24 again it's going to be a long night, I think they'll lose but be within 10.

As expected, UCLA got creamed. Remember - they were down double digits to a Villanova team that lost to #6 Purdue and is perhaps overrated. But they beat them, and suddenly they're the crown of the college basketball world? I think they are probably around #16-25, a fringe Sweet Sixteen team.

In other news, Pac-12 continues to not impress anyone - Oregon loses to St. Mary's.

What a performance by Andrew Nembhard. Believe it or not, SC was really close to getting him when he transferred from Florida. It’s a total pipe dream, but a backcourt of Nembhard and Boogie would really be something.

Yes, I stand corrected in my comment. That's not how I expected the game to go. But after some thought, this is not a reason to fade UCLA to the 16-25 range.

UCLA looked utterly incapable on both ends of the court last night. They quite simply looked incompetent. A great deal of this is due to Gonzaga - and especially to Holmgrem, but this UCLA team looked nothing like the performance of last year's tourney team, which is a performance they are capable of.

UCLA not having Riley in this game is HUGE given the size disparity - imagine the same game except 'Zags without Time or Chet and Bruins with Riley. I still think the 'Zags would pull it out, but it wouldn't be a blowout.

That and then the Bruins just played no defense last night for whatever reason.

Oregon will continue to suck until they figure out how to play together.
