In Oregon’s case, personnel losses and missed days of practice and games caught up to them. Coming off a second covid pause, the Ducks finally had Will Richardson returning to the lineup for the first time this season; but he was understandably rusty.
And then the Ducks lost Chris Duarte to what looked like a very bad ankle sprain. It was all too much for a Duck team facing a competitive Coug team.
The real question is Duarte’s health going forward. The Ducks have the Huskies at home on Saturday, which they will win, but winning games with Duarte and Dante will be a tough task.
