Tony might be in trouble for even talking to the shoe companies. They are the ones that
have to clean up their act.
Bland messed up his 350K /yr job just for a promise of 13k that he might not have even gotten.
Won't disagree for a moment that what Bland did was incredibly dumb and greedy ... and frankly unethical to make a referral based on a payout.

That being said .... making the case for criminal liability is going to be another matter.

It is very odd that the US Attorney, in such a high profile action, would make Bland, the peanuts from a $$$$ standpoint, and the specifics we know about a cornerstone of the whole deal.

US Attorneys didn't target Bland. The snitch targeted Dawkins, who happened to know and bump into Bland.

Yes, I understand they didn't target him, but why charge him and put his name out so prominently when there are certainly a lot bigger fish to fry in this thing? Just strange....

boys the fbi has a real hard on for the whole AAU -College BB connection...they are going around the office gloating about what they are going to do to college basketball....and now that some of the doors have been open, they are looking into football too...trust me on this one...

Everything that is coming out of Arizona is that they won't fire him and that he is taking no blame.

The more these other schools resist taking action, the better for USC.

Keep in mind that the stuff about Arizona paying players and getting outbid Nazir Little comes chiefly from non-UA sources. In other words, whatever is on wire, is mainly hearsay and could not be used against "Book," the UA coach. Someone would have to flip to get that evidence in against UA.

The Little stuff is very much hearsay.

There are enough direct quotes from Book about paying other players and recruits that Arizona would be facing a multi-year ban under normal situations.

There seems to be two charges in the case. The second one seems the most troubling.
                    1. Bland took 13k from Dawkins/Sood. This is the root of the problem and the school should
                    cut ties with Bland.
                    2. Dawkins/Sood paid 9k to the families one an incoming freshman and the other a rising junior.
Hopefully, facts will come out ASAP on this matter.

The indictment doesn't really make it clear how close the relatives were to the players in question. What if we are talking about cousins or uncles or just another influencer who calls himself part of the family? I wonder if that changes things for the NCAA/USC.

If we take it one step back and say a high-school coach or AAU coach or advisor was taking money to influence a player to sign with an agent, would that even impact the player's eligibility or be an NCAA violation
