I was banned years ago, presumably for having a different opinion. And I thought Tom Kelly and Pete Arbogast were homers. HeltonMelton takes homerism to a whole new level. I found some profound posts by HNM.

Preseason rankings round up

After a summer of ranking USC in the top 15, most of college basketball media couldn't resist going with a bunch of blue bloods and rewarding teams that made nice tourney runs, which bumped the Trojans to No. 21 in the preseason AP Poll and 22nd in the USA Today coaches poll. In particular, seeing Kentucky at No. 16 when the Wildcats have a dicey roster, and placing San Diego State at No. 17 seems a bit of a reach, not to mention North Carolina at 19th.
I find Arizona's ranking of 12th to be a bit high given what the Wildcats lost. Not convinced Ballo is the same without Tubelis next to him, and is Caleb Love, who shot 38% for a not-very-good UNC team last year, and Jaden Bradley, who just wasn't really good for Bama last year, really the missing pieces for them that make them better than they were last year? Neither of these guys can shoot. I do like Kylan Boswell and the addition of Keshad Johnson, but this isn't a good shooting team, nor does it have the inside presence it had last year. Kind of a head scratcher to me, but it will all shake out.
Looking at the AP voters, John Wilner ranked USC 7th, while Jon Rothstein has the Trojans 11th.
Ken Pom also has USC No. 21. With our opening game against a quality K-State team, though, we have an opportunity to quickly shoot up the rankings, especially if Collier makes a splash and our bigs do well.

The roster building phase for 2023-24 is likely complete

We’ve got a great 11 and the staff is very pleased.
We’ve got shooting, we’ve got length, we’ve got shot blocking and rim protection, we can run the floor, we’ve got guys who can manufacture their own shots and facilitate for others, we’ve improved our rebounding, and solidified our already-quality defense, we’ve got guys who will get steals, we’ve got guys who will dunk on you, we have toughness, strength, experience and talent, along with arguably the best point guard in the country, arguably the best shooting guard, one of its best defenders, one of its best shot blockers, and its most famous freshman, who will draw the eyes of the nation hither. On top of that, we’ve got a great coaching staff that has been through it all and is ready to climb the mountain top.
It’s certainly possible we add one more, but I doubt it. We are ready to ball. The season starts November 6. LFG!
