That is interesting (30-21 at this moment). But contracts will tend to get renewed when things are going particularly well, so if you looked at this across all cases of pre-post contract renewal records, there would be some general tendency along these lines. Whether what you see is due just to regression-to-mean for the program, as opposed to being causally connected to the contract (maybe due to drop in coach motivation) is a great question. Would love to see someone really try to disentangle. I bet regression effect would account fully for the data. Losing sucks and I expect every coach at this level is consumed by motivation to win. If anything, with regression accounted for, you might even see the opposite effect in the data, since the contract likely helps with recruiting.

There are other factors to consider other than the contract. I would be very interested in a podcast episode that goes into impact of current and former assistant coaches under Enfield.

Team cohesiveness has not looked the same since Hart left. I'm not sure if Mobley is the best developer of bigs out there. Capko has a great rep but I feel like the rest of the assistants do not.

We also had a great run of Nick Vic's, things haven't looked the same down low since those 3..

Good question/ point ChiTrojan . Maybe Enfield should do his version of fire Grinch? On the latest podcast, Chase/Nick made the point that early recruitments/ developments for CAE and team had Jordan M, Benny Boatwright, Metu, Melton but we haven't been able to repeat that. So it could be the loss of Hart and Bland in terms of talent evaluation and development.

Surely doesn't appear that Mobley has been able to coach up any low post moves to Morgan or Iwuchukwu...like zero.
