      Quick tidbit on Knowling ...

Two seasons back, when Knowling was a sophomore, and Yale won the Ivy League regular season by missed the NCAA Tournament because Princeton knocked them off in the Ivy Tourney ...

Knowling led Yale in scoring at 13.6ppg on 63% shooting from the field.

This season, big man Danny Wolf emerged for Yale, and the result was that Knowling's shot attempts actually slightly decreased, as did his efficiency, slightly.

One thing to keep an eye on, beyond the poor free throw shooting, is that Knowling doesn't take 3s .... but he does have a really nice assist rate (18%+) for a non-perimeter player.

Well, he is an effective player in the paint area, but he is really giving up lots of height to many of the guys he will face, particularly in the Big 10. Over the years, SC has lost its share of games to other teams with similar guys so such a player can be very valuable. Having said that, I certainly hope to see some guys who are in the 6'9 or taller category to go along with guards and undersized 4's. I can't help but remember that Muss stated that SC will never play a zone while he is the coach. Height isn't everything, but it still is a factor particularly when playing inside defense in a manto man scheme. MJDavidson

I don't know anything about this player but a 6-5 guy who scores all his points at the rim is a strange take for me. He can't shoot and he doesn't exactly have good rebounding numbers. Surely Muss knows what he is doing more then me and maybe Knowling will be a key player coming off the bench?
MJD, made a good point about Muss only playing man defense and questioning do we have the size and or athleticism to play it?
I'm still hoping for Saint Thomas and a couple of bigs.
