  • Andy Enfield

If he leaves, I’d elevate Chris Capko immediately. Others may disagree, but I totally believe Chris could salvage the roster and recruiting class. He’s also an outstanding coach. Either way, Andy is about to get paid

While I like CC I doubt if we go the way of a first time head coach. Pretty sure Bohn and Sosna will do their due diligence and hire a veteran coach..

I could go either way on this one. I kinda think if Andy leaves, then we're starting close to tabula rasa no matter what.

Another factor: any coach with a proven track record is going to cost more than raising Andy's current salary with a new contract.

Full disclosure, I know Chris, I like Chris and think he’s a terrific coach. Have seen a lot of him in that setting and have long thought he’s a future star. Have no idea what direction Bohn/Sosna would go however.

It's concerning that they haven't given Coach Enfield qn extension yet. You would think it would be a no brainer.

Is this in regards to the Maryland news? Or did I miss something? I haven't felt the sense that AE was thinking about leaving. He's built something special here, if he can keep it up year in and out. I think his odds of success are better here than Maryland, certainly.

Some rumors on Maryland boards that Andy has expressed interest in the job. If true, it's likely Andy's agent looking to get some leverage for a raise at SC; but it's obviously a legitimate threat.

Can TexasNick or @Chase expand on why Andy WOULDN't be extended other than because he doesn't have the greatest relationship with Bohn.

Like why shouldn't Bohn just pay Enfield whatever he wants (within reason); it's not his money - does he have budgeting constraints to meet? Does the fact that the football payout is so high mean that there's less money available for other SC sports like b-ball? Is it a pride thing?

When Bohn arrived, he was pretty set on replacing Enfield. I think these last couple seasons caught him off guard.
