  • UCLA's use of covid as a sword and a shield is reprehensible

    The UCLA athletics program has fully weaponized covid protocols.

    In less than a one-month period, UCLA has:

    #1 forced Washington to forfeit a conference men's basketball game due to a covid outbreak causing the Washington team to go on a covid pause;

    #2 maintained the cancellation of tomorrow's men's basketball game against Arizona, due to a covid pause in UCLA's program, even though six scholarship UCLA players and the head coach held a practice yesterday (Pac-12 rules were recently amended to state that teams had to play after two practices with one coach and SEVEN scholarship players); and

    #3 cancelled the Holiday Bowl against NC State hours before kickoff on the supposed basis that UCLA didn't have enough defensive linemen available.

    Not sure what's worse: that UCLA is doing this or that they are being allowed to do this.

    I agree. And it’s sad that I doubt the NCAA will do anything to them. The NCAA never punished UCLA for Sam Gilbert due to the fact that they’re a basketball blueblood and probably never will. And as for football, they probably won’t do anything for the bowl cancelation.

    Though it’s funny seeing the fUCLA fans complaining that their new AD Martin Jarmond actually be a worse AD than Dan Guerrero who was also terrible for them.
