The last time USC was this high in the AP Poll was December 30, 1974.
FWIW, SC has not been higher than #5 since 1972. -
Gus Williams was a senior on that team. It was him and Lambert. They starters 13-1 and then dropped 5 of the next 6 or 7. It was kind of the end of the Bob Boyd run. He hung on a few more years, but they were never the same.Comment

It's more the human polls catching up with what the computers had been saying. Auburn beat LSU last week rather handily, and LSU has beaten Kentucky and Tennessee since. So Auburn is basically top dog in the SEC.Originally posted by TrojanRecruit View PostComment
